Serving up hope to former soldiers

On any night in London approximately 1,100 former members of the armed forces are homeless.

They live mainly in hostels, bed and breakfast accommodation or on friends' floors.

Now one military charity has taken inspiration from the example of celebrity chef Jamie Oliver, to employ some of them at a new restaurant.

Management of traumatised employees shown to reduce sickness absence

Effective trauma management in the workplace can reduce staff absence and lead to better employee, research has shown.

A study, commissioned by the British Occupational Health Research Foundation (BOHRF), found that an organisation that provides simple yet effective strategies to manage trauma in the workplace can reduce the negative symptoms that employees experience.
