Insightz Hypnotherapy is run by John Hutchings DCH DHP GQHP, an ex-soldier who completed a full 23 ½ year career. During his service John saw service in Bosnia, Kosovo and Northern Ireland and has suffered from PTSD himself through certain incidents in these operational theatres.
John has had a firm fascination for Hypnotherapy since an early age and has devoured any media he could find on the subject. It was this self taught knowledge he credits with being able to address his PTSD symptoms himself and further led to his Practice tag-line “helping people to help themselves”.
Having indeed, successfully treated his own PTSD, John went on to study and become formerly qualified in the field of Hypnotherapy attaining the Diploma in Clinical Hypnosis (DCH), Diploma in Hypnotherapy and Psychoanalysis (DHP) and the General Qualification in Hypnotherapy Practice (GQHP) in readiness for his exit from the Armed Services.
Although hypnotherapy remains the mainstay of John’s therapeutic interventions, he also has a firm grounding in EMDR, EFT, and CBT, using these modalities where appropriate as what may work for one individual may not necessarily work for another.
John also remains active in furthering what may be achieved for individuals who are suffering through no fault of their own, already attending the National
Effects of Psychological Trauma Conference in Swindon and the Veterans Mental Health Summit at the House of Commons this year.
John is registered with the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR), the registering body of the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC), and is an NHS Trusts Association (NHSTA) Complementary Practitioner. He is also a member of the Association for the Institute of Clinical Hypnosis (AICH) and an affiliate member of the Medical School Hypnosis Association (MSHA).
